Brainspotting
Access the brain-body’s innate intelligence & natural self-healing capacities.
Brainspotting (BSP) therapy is designed to help people access, process, & overcome stresses, trauma, negative emotions, & pain (physical & psychological) & can boost performance.
There is increasing evidence that trauma is “stored” in the body and alters brain functioning.
Trauma can have effects on emotions,
memory & physical health.
Brainspotting seems to...activate the body’s innate ability to heal itself from trauma.
Brainspotting has been shown to assist in injury recovery, physical illnesses, inattention, & low motivation.
It can also enhance performance outcomes for athletes, singers, & actors. Researchers highlight that issues like
anger, procrastination & addiction may have been induced by traumatic experience. Thus, Brainspotting can be a particularly effective form of therapy for multiple issues & varied individuals.
There is some evidence that brainspotting works primarily on the limbic system which plays a role in emotion, long-term memory, cognition, motivation, impulse control, & other factors related to well-being.
A "Brainspot" is the eye position related to an emotionally charged issue in the brain. Brainspotting harnesses an adaptive biological system to create change & healing at the neurological level.
Praise for Brainspotting
"Brainspotting is a remarkable,
sophisticated, flexible addition to the therapeutic toolkit of any psychotherapist,
I know because I use it regularly."
